What is PHP?
PHP: or (Hypertext Preprocessor) is a programming language which was originally created for web development, originally created by Rasmus Lerdorf in 1994. PHP can be used by command line interface to enhance traditional website coding.
Something that I find exciting about PHP is that it is an open source technology just like HTML and CSS. Throughout my little experience in coding it has been nice to use software that is accessible to all, without having to pay license fees to learn how to use the product. This has made it much easier to learn on my own pace as it has taken away the pressure of a time frame required to learn these new programs. Unfortunately I have not had the pleasure of using PHP yet as I am still learning the basics.
That being said it is an important tool as it allows for more complex coding such assisting with database management systems and processing payments. One of the largest users of PHP is wordpress, which boasts that it powers asthis article “ states that more than 30% of the internet” which means that you probably went to a website today that uses PHP
